Methi Dosa

Today i made Methi Pola (Dosa for most people). This is one of those things which was unique to my Aai's cooking. For starting here are the ingredients,

2 Cups Rice
2 Cups Poha (Beaten rice- Optional)
3-4 tsp of methi seeds
Salt as per taste
A little turmeric

1) Soak the rice and methi seeds for 8-10 hrs. Soak the poha for 1-2 hrs.

2) After they are soaked grind them to a fine paste, adding salt and haldi to the mixture.
Keep this mixture overnight.

3) When making dosas my Mom adds coconut scrappings to the mixture (typical to coastal cuisines), but its perfectly ok if you dont.

4) Spread some oil on a pre-heated tawa and spread the mixture on top of it making a round dosa. Cover it with a plate. After a while remove the covering plate and cook it on the other side.

Serve it with little ghee and gud (jaggery). Can also serve with coconut chutney.

Variations- Instead of Methi seeds the Dosas can also be made by grinding into the batter shepu leaves (Sowa or Dill) or Kakdi (Cucumber)
